CURO Research Assistantship

The CURO Research Assistantship (CRA) supports experiential learning opportunities that only a major research university can provide. As part of an initiative to enhance the UGA learning environment, the CURO Research Assistantship Program provides 500 stipends of $1,000 each to outstanding undergraduate students across campus to actively participate in faculty-mentored research.

Students must submit the CURO Research Assistantship Application to 203 Moore College by the posted deadlines. CURO is willing to accept electronic submissions, applications should be sent to curo@uga.edu. (Applicants should download and save this fillable PDF prior to starting the application. Works best with Chrome or Internet Explorer)

FALL – due by June 1 at 4pm

SPRING – due by November 1 at 4pm

SUMMER – due by March 22, 2017 at 4pm

  • Assistantships are one-semester awards for either Fall, Spring, or Summer.
  • Assistantship students are encouraged to register for academic credit regardless of major, GPA, or Honors status. (CURO Course Information)
  • All Assistantship recipients are required to present their research at the spring CURO Symposium.
  • If beneficial for their programs of study, students may conduct research with faculty members outside their department, college or school.
  • Because the $1,000 award will be distributed via payroll, student employment in a UGA position may affect disbursement to the recipients. The stipend will be distributed through your major college.

Conference Travel Support through the CURO Research Assistantship

Undergraduate researchers who have been accepted to present their work at an academic or professional conference can apply for a CURO Research Assistantship to support that travel by filling out the CURO Research Assistantship - Conference Funding Application. A limited number of such Assistantships are available each term.

  • Submit the completed form to 203 Moore College at least one month before the conference date.
  • Students must have been accepted to present at a conference prior to submitting the application.
  • A limited number of Research Assistantships designated for travel support are available each term.
  • All Assistantship recipients are required to present their research at the spring CURO Symposium.
  • Because the award will be distributed via payroll, student employment in a UGA position may affect disbursement to the recipients.
